Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Biomedical Engineer who can independently handle ICU and Operation Theatre (OT) medical equipment. The candidate will be responsible for installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and ensuring safe and uninterrupted operation of critical care and surgical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning, and maintenance of ICU and OT equipment.
Handle equipment such as ventilators, monitors, infusion & syringe pumps, defibrillators, anesthesia workstations, electrosurgical units (ESU), OT tables & lights, suction machines, and related devices.
Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults in critical care equipment.
Ensure compliance with hospital safety standards, NABH guidelines, and biomedical regulations.
Maintain service records, calibration reports, and maintenance logs.
Coordinate with doctors, nurses, OT staff, and vendors/OEMs for technical support.
Support audits, inspections, and emergency breakdowns.
Train clinical staff on basic operation and safety of ICU & OT equipment.
Qualifications
Education:
Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Biomedical Engineering or Electronics
Certification (Preferred):
Training or certification in ICU/OT equipment handling
Experience
Minimum 7-9 years of hands-on experience with ICU and OT equipment in a hospital setup.
Skills & Competencies
Strong technical knowledge of ICU and OT medical devices
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of calibration, safety testing, and preventive maintenance
Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency breakdowns
Good communication and coordination skills
Willingness to work in shifts / on-call support
Preferred Requirements
Experience in multi-specialty hospitals
OEM / third-party service experience will be an added advantage
